L-3 Telemetry East (L-3TE) recently received a contract award from Raytheon Missile Systems for the Small Diameter Bomb II contract to support the engineering manufacturing development (EMD) phase. The contract is to provide 140 PCM encoders, including non-recurring engineering and qualification. Hardware deliveries begin in 2011 and continue through 2013. L-3TE’s PCM encoder was competitively selected during the risk reduction phase of the program. Raytheon was subsequently selected and received their contract award in August, 2010 for the EMD phase. L-3TE’s president, Marc Lienard stated, “This is a significant win for L-3TE. Our engineering, program management and operations teams did a tremendous job in supporting our efforts to win this program. We are thrilled our PCM encoder was selected to support flight testing of Raytheon’s SDB II weapon system.”
